Tell you what...why don't you come knit out of MY stash? Then we can BOTH feel better about being grown ups...

Jackie

Good for you! I know it's going to be hard resisting the sock yarn, but really, once you decide to tighten the proverbial belt, and you start to notice the progress you make on the debt, paying it down is even more addicting than sock yarn. Sounds crazy, I know, but it's true. We should talk debt sometime.

Anyway, my resolution is to grow up and take full responsibility for my adulthood. I can feel the transition in the air... it's time to step up.

By the way, I was totally inspired by your coffee rack in the kitchen and your yarn drawers. We purchased a rack for the kitchen and it's awesome, and I'm totally scouting around for a good used or otherwise cheap dresser to store all the yarn in.

You can do it! To quote Claudia, quoting Yoda, "Do or do not, there is no try" (inspirational, huh?)

Now, SavannaChick has publicly listed all of her sock yarn instead of just tossing out amounts in quarts - you should blog stalk her, too. ;p

It's a disease, like addiction, I am sure of it. If we don't hoard sock yarn, we will starve in the winter. You are fighting powerful genes. You may win. Or you may not. It is worth the fight....for a while. Just don't beat yourself up too much. How about one sock yarn purchase per six weeks? THat's almost knittable.....

Nancy

Ditto, except for the saving for a wedding. Thankfully, I'm just not a sock knitter. However, I am a very-expensive-yarn knitter. I'll be there to support you, if you're there to support me. Together we can do this!

:-)

heather

love the rezzies.

#1 for me Enjoy LIFE MY WAY!
#2 Use up 50% of my stashed PROJECTS...seriously I have like 6 sweaters stashed...and an entire DUFFLE bag of sock yarn. SICK.
You aren't alone!

I've been working out of my stash for a while, it's hard, it sucks but I too need to get out of debt. It's worked well for me to avoid yarn stores and email sales like the PLAGUE!! We are all behind you. My resolution is to think more of others and less of myself. I tend to be selfish sometimes.

Erin

I don't really make resolutions, I never have and I don't really know why. (how's that for an explanation?!?) I think knitting from your stash is a great idea. I'm trying to do that myself mainly because I'm a poor college student and can't afford to buy more yarn!

Johanna

How about whenever you feel that you NEED new sock yarn you offer up some old stuff for trade. You get some out of your stash, but you get NEW, EXCITING yarn! You have people send you pictures of offers and pick whatever the yarny goddess in you wants that day! Responsibility is a good thing, but no reason to not get new yarn! ...new to you that is!

Chris

I already have crazy amounts of sock yarn (nearly two 33 qt Sterilite tote boxes). Time to stop the madness and start knitting it. Of course, I did hurry up and order some Socks That Rock right before the Jan 1 - March 31 purchase moratorium started for Stashalong...

Gracie

Brave resolution. There is just something about hoarding yarn that is so great. Maybe we are all afraid that all of the yarn in the world is going to be gone and we want enough to last us awhile.

maryse

my resolution is to steal all of your sock yarn ;)

amandamonkey

ohhh, I *would* send you sock yarn but alas, now my goals are much like yours. Exciting, but not very colorful or touchable right now.

I need to cook more at home and take the leftovers to work for lunch. That will go a long way to reaching money and health goals.

Good luck!

Cara

I resolve to send you some sock yarn. Email me your address. ;-)
